Andy Roddick’s countryman, Sam Querrey, has been defeated by Novak Djokovic in the third round of the BNP Paribas Open. Djokovic won the match in the straight sets by 6-0, 7-6(2).

It took Djokovic just 1 hour and 27 minutes to win the match.

Actually, the match between Djokovic and Querrey had to start at 8:30 p.m. But, because of the fact that the earlier matches went on for longer durations, this match started about 4 hours late.

Djokovic started aggressively and just flattened the 26 years old American in the opening set by securing a bagel.

Andy Roddick was defeated by Mardy Fish to knock him out of the ATP Atlanta Championship. It ended a run of nine straight Roddick wins against Fish dating back to 2003.

Fish, who needed only one break to secure victory, firing nine aces and 27 winners, won in Newport this month and has gone nine matches without defeat.

In Sunday's final he faces John Isner, who he defeated in their only previous meeting last season indoors, after he beat Kevin Anderson 6-3 6-7 (7-9) 6-3.
