Roger Federer famous in Asian Sub-Continent

Despite the fact that tennis is not such a popular game in the Asian continent especially in India, Roger Federer is still a superstar in that part of the world.

The Switzerland international has to play a few matches in India next month and the tickets for those matches have already been sold out.

In India, Federer will actually be participating in the International Premier Tennis League.

It’s not a singles tournament. It’s a team event which will go on for duration of two weeks.


Roger Federer is surprised by the fact that the former German great Boris Becker has taken over as the coach of his rival Novak Djokovic. But, at the same time, he believes that the appointment of former greats as coaches is actually a great thing for the game.

Djokovic is not the only top male tennis player who has appointed a former great as his coach in recent times. There are a few others as well who have done the same. Andy Murray has been playing under the guidance of Ivan Lendl for quite some time now, while, Federer himself has also included Stefan Edberg into his team.



Roger Federer is going to be back in action in the German Open which will be played at Hamburg. The Swiss superstar is desperate to make his mark after having a dreadful Wimbledon Championships recently.

Federer had been stunned by Sergiy Stakhovsky of Ukraine in the second round of the Wimbledon Championships.

Federer wants to put that defeat out of his system as soon as possible. That’s why; he has decided to be back in action soon.



When Roger Federer takes on his opponents on the court, he doesn’t look too nervous. But, he certainly showed signs of nervousness when he was watching the first leg of Europa League semi final match between FC Basel and Chelsea.

Roger Federer has defeated Benoit Paire of France in the first round match in the Australian Open 2013. Federer won the match in the straight sets by 6-2, 6-4, 6-1.

Federer is much higher in ranking than Paire and he wasn’t expected to have too much of a problem against the 23 years old Frenchman. That’s what exactly happened. It was Federer who remained dominant right through the match and completely outsmarted Paire. The Swiss maestro took just 83 minutes to win the match.



Roger Federer has defeated Janko Tipsarevic of Serbia in a Group B match of the ATP World Tour Finals. Federer won the match in the straight sets by 6-3, 6-1. This was the first Round Robin match for Federer in the tournament. With this victory, Federer has now been placed at the no. 1 position in the Group B points table.



Roger Federer has defeated his compatriot Stanislas Wawrinka in the third round of the Shanghai Rolex Masters 2012. Federer won the match by 4-6, 7-6 (7/4), 6-0. With this victory, Federer has reached the quarter finals of the competition.

It was a very interesting match and at one point of time, Federer was on the verge of losing the match. But, the World no. 1 showed his class and made a fantastic comeback to win the match. Federer took almost 2 hours to register the victory. This was the 13th match between these two players and Federer defeated Wawrinka for the 12th time.



The no. 1 male tennis player in the world, Roger Federer, has defeated Donald Young of USA in the first round of the US Open at Arthur Ashe Stadium. Federer won the match in the straight sets by 6-3, 6-2, 6-4. Federer has been in fine form in the recent times.



Roger Federer has defeated John Isner of USA in the quarter final of men’s tennis singles tournament of London Olympics. Federer won the match in the straight sets by 6-4, 7-6 (5). Federer hasn’t won a Gold medal in the singles event of the Olympics yet. But, the kind of form he is in at the moment, he might end up winning his first gold medal in the singles event this time around. He took just 85 minutes to knock Isner out of the competition.
